Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Post Partum unit is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to post partum and low risk ante-partum patients, with patient ratios of 1:3-4 for antepartum or couplets. The nurse will work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, compassionate care.

Responsibilities:

Breastfeeding assistance
Newborn care, including vital signs, thermoregulation, managing hypoglycemia, and bilirubin levels
Independently care for 3-4 couplets, provide discharge teaching, and vaccinate neonates
Perform thorough assessments and reassessments for both mothers and babies
Perform fundal checks on postpartum patients

Requirements:

Minimum of 1 year of Mother-Baby/Postpartum experience and at least 2 years as a Registered Nurse
BLS, NRP certifications required; EFM preferred
Proficiency in newborn lab, phlebotomy, IV skills, and PKU testing
Experience with EPIC EMR system preferred
