Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM

On-Call Requirement: 1 week per month, typically covered by phone

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a single state license or a multi-state compact RN license.
• Certification in Infection Control within 2 years is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience as an Infection Preventionist in an acute care hospital setting.
• CIC (Certification in Infection Control) certification is preferred.

Role Summary

The Infection Preventionist is responsible for developing and implementing infection prevention strategies to ensure patient safety and compliance with health regulations. This role involves active collaboration with healthcare teams, education initiatives, and data analysis to enhance infection control practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct infection surveillance and data collection on healthcare-associated infections.
• Educate staff on infection prevention policies and best practices.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to develop and implement infection control measures.
• Analyze infection data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Participate in quality improvement projects related to infection control.
