ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Information

Location: Bay Area, TX

Number of Beds: 24

Number of Staff: 50

Day Shift Staff: 1 CNC, 12 RNs, 1 Unit Secretary, 1-3 sitters/week

Night Shift Staff: 1 CNC, 12 RNs, 1-3 sitters/week

Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2

Type of Equipment: Vents, Swans, Impella’s, Balloon pumps

EMR: Not specified

Typical Hiring Profile

• Must-Have Skills: Candidates without ICU experience will not be considered.
• Preferred Skills:
  • Level 1 or 2 trauma experience
  • Cardiovascular surgery experience

Typical Procedures Performed

• Intubation
• Central lines
• Bronchoscopy
• EVDs
• ICP monitoring
• Swan Ganz catheterization
• Temporary pacing
• Bolts insertion

Personality Fit

Excellent customer service skills are essential.

• BLS
• ACLS

Work Schedule

Every other weekend required. May be placed on call if not needed on the scheduled shift, but only for that shift. No additional call expectations.
