Job Description:

The Registered Nurse will provide care for complex ICU patients in a mixed unit with responsibilities in medical, surgical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma specialties. The nurse will work in pods within the ICU and may float to ED and other adult floors as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Care for ICU patients with diverse and complex conditions including ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, s/p cardiac cath, and post-surgical trauma.
• Manage patient treatments using hemodynamic lines, ventilators, and IV medications.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of CNA, charge nurses, intensivists, and respiratory therapists.
• Perform critical thinking and assessment in fast-paced and high-acuity settings.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience excluding travel experience.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC (must obtain prior to arrival).
• Registered Nurse (RN) – South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Epic experience and comfort with handling a 48-hour/week contract.
• Experience with proning, telemetry, and critical care medication administration.
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
