Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the ICU is responsible for providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients in a 33-bed unit, with an average daily census of 16. Responsibilities include patient assessments, developing care plans, titrating drips, and collaboration with healthcare technicians and aides.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs in the ICU.
• Titrate cardiac drips and insulin as required.
• Monitor and interpret patient telemetry strips.
• Assist with respiratory equipment management, including vents and high flow strategies.
• Float to PCU or MedSurg as needed, maintaining typical patient ratios.
• Ensure compliance with ICU unit policies, including a prohibition on artificial nails.

Requirements:

• Current RN License and certification in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Successful completion of an RN pass/fail orientation exam—90% required to pass.
• Must be able to work every other weekend and two holidays within the contract period.
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system.
• Valid driver’s license to verify residence beyond 50-mile radius.
