Job Description:

The role involves providing critical care to complex ICU patients, including surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases. The RN will work in a mixed unit ICU, divided into pods, and will not float into the CVICU unless experienced in that specialty.

Responsibilities:

• Care for ICU patients with diagnoses such as ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, and multiple system trauma.
• Administer and manage IV medications, hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, and telemetry.
• Float to Medsurg/Tele floors if overstaffed, maintaining a 1:4 ratio.
• Engage in hospital and unit orientation and precept students as needed.

Requirements:

• 2 years of ICU experience excluding travel experience; 1.5 years with significant RN experience may be considered.
• Completion of a board-approved nursing education program and registered with the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC (required prior to arrival).
• Epic experience is required; experience with IV medications, ventilators, and strong critical thinking skills.
• Comfortable working a 48-hour/week contract; must live 100 miles from any Monument Health facility.
