Job Description:

The Registered Nurse – ICU will be responsible for providing critical care to complex ICU patients on a mixed unit, working within pods that include MICU, SICU, CICU, and TICU. The role involves handling patients with surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma diagnoses. Experience with cardiac care is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for ICU patients with various diagnoses including ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, and post-surgical cases.
• Maintain patient ratios of RN: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 where applicable, depending on acuity.
• Administer IV medications and manage ventilators, critical care lines, and patient telemetry.
• Participate in team-based care and decision-making.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience, excluding travel experience.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC certifications required.
• Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing; RN licensed by the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Proficiency in using Epic charting system.
• Ability to work a 48-hour week contract.
