Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) will provide care for complex ICU patients, including those with surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma needs. RNs will work in a mixed unit divided into pods, excluding the CVICU unless experienced in that specialty. The role demands strong critical thinking, assessment skills, and a team-oriented approach to care.

Responsibilities:

• Care for patients with diagnoses such as ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, post-surgical, and trauma.
• Manage IV medications, hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, and telemetry.
• Work with and support CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomists, and physicians within the ICU team.
• Adhere to a 48-hour workweek contract, including rotating weekends as needed.
• Possibility of floating to Medsurg/Tele floors if overstaffed.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience; travel experience excluded.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required.
• Epic experience required for documentation.
• Completion of a board-approved nursing education program; South Dakota RN license.
• Comfortable with high-acuity patient care and working in a fast-paced environment.
