ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

An opportunity is available for an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to work in a dynamic and challenging environment. Candidates must have the required qualifications and experience to provide high-quality care to critically ill patients.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Nights
• Shift Length: 12-hour shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: Up to 3 weekends per month
• Holiday Requirements: Option for one holiday off during the assignment

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Number of Beds: 32
• Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2, 1:1
• Common Diagnoses: Level 1 trauma, cranial surgeries, neuro surgeries, cardiovascular events, ARDS, COVID, and sepsis.

Qualifications

• Required Experience: 3 years of recent ICU experience, including specific experience in either neuro or cardiovascular care.
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Dysrhythmia Examination: Completion required 24-48 hours before acceptance.
• Simulation Lab: Passing required on Day 1 of orientation.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting.
• Administer and titrate various medications and intravenous drips.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, including intensivists and respiratory therapists, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and monitor patients using telemetry equipment.
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and continuous education programs.

Additional Notes

• Expect to float between multiple ICUs, including Medical ICU and overflow units as needed.
• Self-scheduling is allowed, with management balancing shift needs.
