ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. This position requires a strong commitment to high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Position Details

• Unit: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
• Unit Type: MS ICU 3N/3S RN
• Shift: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Required Experience: 2 years recent ICU experience

Certifications Required

• ACLS
• BLS Certification
• NIHSS

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 34
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 in ICU, 1:4-5 in PCU, 1:5-6 in Med/Surg
• Common Diagnoses:
  • Neurosurgery
  • Respiratory failure
  • ARDS
  • MODS
  • Sepsis
  • Stroke
  • Cardiogenic shock
  • Renal failure
  • General surgery
  • Psychiatric conditions/overdose
  • GI bleeds
  • Cancer specific surgeries
• Titration of Drips: Required for Vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics.
• Tele/Monitor Techs: No techs, RNs are required to read and interpret their own cardiac strips.

Work Environment

The unit operates in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, serving as the primary tertiary care hospital for the system. A successful candidate will demonstrate excellent critical thinking skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to teamwork.

Schedule and Orientation

• Shift Hours: 0630-1830 and 1830-0630
• Scheduling: Managed based on unit needs
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Orientation: 2 shifts

Additional Information

• Uniform: Navy Blue scrubs are required.
• All candidates must possess a valid driver’s license to determine eligibility based on the radius rule of 50 miles.
• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas.
• RN’s are required to pass a skills exam during orientation.
