ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This role requires a strong background in critical care nursing, particularly with patients utilizing ventilators and cardiovascular drips.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 30
• Staffing: 82 staff members, including 2 charge nurses and up to 15 nurses per shift, with adjustments based on patient acuity and needs.
• Patient Ratios: 1:1, 2:1, and 3:1
• Equipment Utilized: Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), and Impella (not mandatory for contracts)
• Electronic Medical Record: Meditech

Qualifications

• Required Experience: ICU experience with ventilator management and cardiovascular drips is essential.
• Preferred Skills: Experience in neurological care is a strong advantage.
• Typical Procedures Performed:
  • Thoracentesis
  • Arterial Line and Central Line Placement
• Certifications Required: ACLS and BLS certifications.

Work Environment

The ICU unit aims to provide the highest standard of patient care through a collaborative and supportive team environment. The dress code consists of royal blue scrubs.

Scheduling

• Shifts are from 7 PM to 7 AM.
• Weekend coverage is required, totaling 4 weekend shifts per schedule.
• There is no on-call requirement.
