ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. This position involves working in the Intensive Care Unit, providing critical care for patients with severe and life-threatening conditions. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a commitment to delivering compassionate patient care.

Position Details

• Unit Type: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adults

Required Certifications

• ACLS Certification
• BLS Certification
• NIHSS Certification

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and vital signs.
• Titrate intravenous drips, including cardiac and insulin drips, according to established protocols.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient and family education and support.
• Manage equipment such as ventilators and other respiratory therapies as needed.
• Document all nursing care and patient interactions accurately in the medical record.
• Floating to PCU or MedSurg as needed while maintaining appropriate patient ratios.

Shift & Scheduling

• Shifts: 0630-1830, 1830-0630
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Minimum of 2 holidays within the contract timeframe
• Orientation: 1 shift of unit/department specific orientation

Additional Information

• Artificial nails are not permitted while providing patient care.
• RTO needed upfront with a limit of 7 or fewer days per contract.
• Capacity to arrive within 30 minutes if called back in from on-call status.
