Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) with at least two years of experience to join our team in a dynamic environment that caters to various patient types and conditions. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing critical care patients and performing advanced nursing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Respiratory Distress, Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), Atrial Fibrillation with Rapid Ventricular Response (A-fib RVR), and Diabetes Mellitus (DM).
• Administer blood products, manage BiPAP therapy, and care for patients diagnosed with cerebrovascular accidents (CVA).
• Monitor post-cardiac catheterization patients, including those with femoral arterial sheaths.
• Perform dressing changes and manage wound vacs.
• Handle chest tubes and various intravenous drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitroglycerin, and heparin.
• Provide care to surgical patients, including vascular, abdominal, and gastrointestinal cases.
• Practice within the ICU and Telemetry settings, adapting to various levels of patient care as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required; experience as a travel nurse preferred but not required.
• Proven experience with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and monitoring of femoral arterial sheaths.
• Preferred experience with arterial lines, Impella devices, and intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP).
• Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) are mandatory.

Work Environment

• This position operates in a non-profit community setting with a total of 226 beds, including 11 for ICU patients.
• Shifts available from 1900 to 0730 and 0700 to 1930.
• Weekends are required on an every-other-weekend rotation basis.
• Scrubs of any professional color are permitted.
• The role requires potential floatation to other ICU levels or lower throughout the facility.

EMR System

Experience with the EPIC electronic medical record system is advantageous.
