Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and have completed at least one travel assignment. This position requires expertise in handling various patient types and potential critical care situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Respiratory Distress, Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), Atrial Fibrillation (A-fib) with Rapid Ventricular Response (RVR), Diabetes Mellitus (DM), post-CVA complications, and surgical recovery.
• Administer blood products and utilize BiPAP as needed.
• Monitor and manage patients with femoral arterial sheaths and administer drips including Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Lasix, Nitro, and Heparin.
• Perform wound care including dressing changes, and utilize chest tubes and wound vacs.
• Support post-cardiac catheterization patients, including those with TR bands and femoral approach.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Experience in critical care and telemetry settings.
• Required certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Preferred experience with arterial lines, Impella devices, and Intra-aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP).

Unit Information

This position is located in a community hospital with a total of 226 beds, including 11 ICU beds. The nursing unit accommodates both ICU and telemetry patients regularly, creating a dynamic and challenging work environment.

Work Schedule and Environment

• Shift Times: 1900-0730 and 0700-1930.
• Weekend rotation required every other week.
• Floating may be required to ICU level or below throughout the hospital.
• Scrub Color: Any professional color.

Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

Familiarity with EPIC EMR is preferred.
