ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our ICU Float Pool. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care in various ICU settings, including critical care and neuro-specific areas.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
• Unit Includes: Tower 2, Tower 4 (Cardiothoracic ICU), 4 Neuro
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 in ICU areas, 1:4 in MedSurg/Tele units

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Shift Type: Nights
• Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends within 4 weeks
• Holidays: Required based on unit needs
• Orientation: 2 shifts, additional shift as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience preferred
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS preferred

Responsibilities

• Float between multiple ICU units, as well as MedSurg/Tele units.
• Maintain competency in critical care skills, including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
• Perform tele strip interpretation and manage critical drips and respiratory support equipment.
• Conduct bedside report and complete skin assessments within the first 4 hours of each shift.

Additional Information

• Travelers must be willing to float as needed and understand that refusal to float could impact placement.
• All critical drips and respiratory support are managed within the unit.
• Performance in a SIMs Lab for specified skills is required prior to contract initiation.
