Job Description:

The Registered Nurse for the ICU is responsible for providing care to complex ICU patients including surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases. Applicants should possess strong critical thinking and assessment skills, comfort with IV medications and ventilator management, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting with critical patients.

Responsibilities:

• Care for complex ICU patients with conditions such as ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, and trauma.
• Manage hemodynamic lines, proning, and telemetry.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including 24/7 RT and physicians.
• Ensure compliance with hospital and unit protocols.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience, excluding travel; or 1.5 years with significant RN experience outside ICU.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC.
• Comfortable working 48-hour week contracts.
• Experience with Epic, Impella, IABP, and CRRT preferred.
• Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) – South Dakota Board of Nursing.
