ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Details

• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: No
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Unit Overview

This unit focuses on providing exemplary critical care. The ICU environment is fast-paced and requires skilled professionals to deliver high-quality care to patients with complex needs.

Qualifications

• Required Skills:
  • 2+ years of critical care experience
  • 2+ years of hospital or travel experience
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
• Preferred Skills:
  • Rotoprone experience
  • Exposure to Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), specifically Prismaflex
  • Experience with Meditech documentation system
• Licensure:
  • Active RN license in Texas (temporary licenses are not accepted)

Typical Procedures Performed

• Central line placement
• Bronchoscopy
• Bedside tracheostomy

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Navy (undershirts and jackets must be white, navy, or black)
• Nail Policy: No acrylic nails, must be clean and no chipped nail polish
• Hair: Must be off shoulders and be of natural color
• Tattoos: Must be covered whenever possible; those that cannot be covered will be addressed individually
• Piercings: Visible body piercings other than the ears are prohibited

Additional Information

• Travelers are required to float as needed; floating to other areas may occur based on patient census
• Work four weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling cycle

Unit Guidelines

• Attendance policies and acknowledgment forms will be enforced as per unit guidelines
