Job Description:

This position is primarily within the Intensive Care Unit and periodically will float to ED, Med/Surg or Peds in case of low census. Provides nursing care to critically ill patients. The Registered Nurse performs a variety of responsible nursing care procedures requiring professional knowledge and consideration of specific patient conditions and treatments and ability to work independently in completing assignments. Nursing duties include the provision of inpatient care and support in the 5 Bed I.C.U. to individuals of all ages and their families. After hours recovery of post-op general surgery, pediatric, & OB patients as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to critically ill patients within ICU.
• Float to ED, Med/Surg or Peds as necessary due to census.
• Perform responsible nursing care procedures independently.
• Support after hours recovery for post-op surgeries and procedures.

Requirements:

• Must have at least 3 years of prior ICU experience.
• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Must maintain a current valid unrestricted Professional Nursing License (RN) in any state of the United States.
• Current valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association must be completed within six months of hire.
• Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) must be completed within 6 months of hire.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) must be completed within 6 months of hire.
