Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the ICU is responsible for providing comprehensive care to complex ICU patients including surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases. The role demands strong critical thinking and assessment skills, comfortability in a fast-paced setting, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities:

• Care for complex ICU patients ranging in surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma disciplines.
• Administer IV medications, manage hemodynamic lines, and perform ventilator management.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse aides, and respiratory therapists to provide comprehensive care.
• Conduct peripheral blood draws and manage critical patient care using Epic charting system.
• Attend hospital and unit orientation and participate in weekend rotations as scheduled.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience (excluding travel experience) preferred.
• Registered Nurse licensed by the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Certified in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC; willing to obtain TNCC if not certified prior to arrival.
• Proficiency in Epic, experience with IV medications, and ability to handle fast-paced critical care environments.
• Willingness to work a 48hr/week contract and float to designated units as needed.
