Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for a challenging opportunity within an Emergency Room (ER) setting. The ideal candidates will provide high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the health and safety of those under their care.

Position Details

• Unit Type: Emergency Room (ER)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week (36 hours may be considered)
• Years of Experience: 2 years required

Required Certifications

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a level III ER.
• Assist with triage, patient assessments, and implement care plans.
• Utilize EPIC experience for patient documentation and communication.
• Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Float as necessary to meet the unit’s needs.
• Participate in departmental orientation and training.

Unit Information

• Patient Volume: Approximately 70 patients treated daily
• Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1:3-4 based on acuity
• Trauma and Stroke Center: STEMI and Stroke Receiving
• Security: On-site 24/7
• Team Composition: MD in-house 24/7 with mid-level support during peak times
• Patient Care Aides: 2 PCTs available per shift

Schedule and Orientation

• Rotating weekends with holiday requirements as part of the regular staff rotation.
• Orientation will be tailored based on experience (1-3 shifts).
• Matrix scheduling to accommodate traveler preferences whenever possible.

Additional Information

• Travelers may be asked to assist in triage and willing to care for intermingled ER hold patients.
• RNs will not be responsible for the placement of psych patients, as this will be managed by a dedicated team.
• Preferred candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork and unit cohesion.
