Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Details

• Unit: Emergency Department
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, Myocardial Infarction, Cardiac Arrest, Respiratory Failure
• Number of Beds: 64 (Including Triage, Acute, Super Track, Trauma, CDU, and Psychiatric Beds)
• Patients: Newborn, Pediatrics, Adults, Geriatric
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering direct patient care in the Emergency Department, including but not limited to:

• Assessing and monitoring patients’ conditions and vital signs.
• Administering medications, intravenous therapies, and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans.
• Providing education and support to patients and their families.
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Participating in emergency response situations.

Qualifications

• Current New York Registered Nurse license.
• 2+ years of experience in Emergency Department nursing.
• Previous travel nursing experience is required.
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC is mandatory.
• Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
• Capable of managing critical drips and medications (e.g., Levophed, Epi, Cardizem, Fentanyl).
• Ability to provide care for SANE patients.

Additional Information

Candidates should be prepared to float to different areas as required by the unit. The shift for this position is from 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM. Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
