Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) provides critical care to patients in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to work under pressure, and effective communication with both patients and the healthcare team.

Position Details

• Unit: Emergency Room
• Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Rotating
• Beds Available: 27
• Patient Demographics: All ages

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care and support to patients in need.
• Assist in triage and assessment of patients entering the Emergency Room.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Utilize skills in a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation of patient information and care.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including compliance with safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Required Experience: 2 years in a clinical nursing role, preferably in an emergency setting.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Additional Requirements: Valid driver’s license required for compliance with radius rule.

Work Environment

This role includes collaboration with nursing assistants, EMTs, paramedics, and other support staff. Phlebotomy services are available, allowing for efficient lab work and patient management.

Self-Scheduling

Shifts are self-scheduled, but no shifts are guaranteed until the schedule is finalized.

Policy Notes

• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas; compliance is mandatory.
• All new hires are required to pass an open-book exam during orientation, with a passing score of 90% required for continued employment.
• Requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront and are limited to 7 days or less per 13-week contract. Additional RTO will not be approved.
