Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

General Overview

Position Details

  • Unit Name: Emergency Department
  • Number of Beds: 101
  • Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 for medical cases, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
  • Documentation System: Cerner

Scheduling and Staffing

  • Every other weekend required
  • No block scheduling available
  • Open to floating within various sections of the Emergency Department

Patient Care Standards

All team members are committed to enhancing patient experiences through respectful behavior, effective communication, and timely updates regarding patient status throughout their visit.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting
  • Experience in a Level 2 trauma center and high-volume Emergency Department (over 100,000 visits/year) preferred
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback

Required Certifications

  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • PALS certification
  • TNCC certification
  • CPI certification prior to hire
  • NIHSS certification
  • ENPC certification

Dress Code

Navy scrubs are the required uniform for this position.
