Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering care to patients in the Emergency Department by employing the Nursing Process in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and established policies and procedures. The role requires critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in ensuring the safe delivery of care to patients. The Registered Nurse will maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education, delegate patient care priorities based on the education and experience of available staff, and provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel involved in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Emergency Room patients.
• Utilize critical thinking and scientific judgment in patient care delivery.
• Anticipate and plan for safe care delivery.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care responsibilities appropriately.
• Supervise and direct assigned personnel in delivering patient care.
• Float to other areas as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Valid nursing license in the state.
• Current Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• Experience with EMR systems, preferably Cerner.
• Trauma Level III certification and Stroke and STEMI receiving capabilities are required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is recommended.

Work Environment

The facility is equipped with a 38-bed Emergency Department, including Level III trauma care and capabilities for stroke and STEMI receiving.
