Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients in the Emergency Department by applying the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. This role requires critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in preparing for the safe delivery of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the Nursing Process to provide comprehensive care to Emergency Department patients.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and effective decision-making skills in patient care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and training.
• Delegate patient care tasks based on the qualifications and experience of available staff.
• Provide direction and supervision to personnel involved in patient care delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
• Valid nursing license in the state of Arizona required.
• Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred.
• Trauma Level III certification is required.
• Experience in stroke and STEMI receiving protocols is beneficial.
• NIH certification is recommended but not required.

Work Environment

The Emergency Department comprises 38 beds, providing a dynamic and challenging environment for patient care. Nurses are expected to have flexibility in their roles and may be required to float to different areas as needed.

Dress Code

Nursing staff are required to wear black scrubs as per the dress code policy.

Location

Multiple locations within the region including various facilities in the city and state.
