Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering high-quality care to patients in the Emergency Department. This role involves applying the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize critical thinking skills and scientific judgement to anticipate and plan for the safe delivery of patient care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and training.
• Delegate patient care priorities according to the education and experience levels of available staff.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel involved in patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Active nursing license in the state of practice required.
• Experience with EMR systems, Cerner preferred.
• Trauma Level III Certification.
• Stroke and STEMI receiving experience is preferred.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is recommended, but not required.

Additional Information

The Registered Nurse must be flexible and willing to float between departments as needed. The position requires adherence to a dress code of black scrubs.
