Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

Position Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Room (ER) team. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care to patients in urgent situations.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 101
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 for medical patients; up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds.
• Unit Staff: Includes techs, clerks, and dedicated triage personnel.
• Type of Equipment: Includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors.
• Documentation System: Cerner.

Scheduling Requirements

Every other weekend availability is required. Candidates must be flexible and willing to work in various sections within the ER as needed.

Patient Experience Requirements

Focus on delivering exceptional patient experiences by adhering to AIDET principles, maintaining respectful behavior, and ensuring patients are informed throughout their visit.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting.
• Experience in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and provide real-time coaching and feedback.
• Flexibility to adapt to various areas of the Emergency Department.

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)

Dress Code

Navy scrubs are required.
