Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team. This role involves providing comprehensive emergency medical services to patients of all ages in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Manage patient care as required, including potential trauma and critical care cases.
  • Float to other units and facilities as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Utilize Meditech for patient charting and data management.

Qualifications

  • Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC.
  • Possess an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree.
  • Hold an active nursing license in Alabama or a Compact License.
  • Minimum of 18 months of nursing experience, with at least one year in a relevant specialty.
  • Must be willing to adhere to scheduling and attendance requirements.

Additional Information

  • Emergency Department is a 54-bed Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center.
  • Emergency Department team treats over 60,000 patients annually.
  • Patient-to-nurse ratios vary based on patient acuity, ranging from 1:1 to 1:3-4.
  • Orientation includes 16 hours of non-billable time.
  • Two attempts allowed to pass a Dysrhythmia Basic exam during onboarding; contract cancellation occurs upon failure to pass.
  • Facility can cancel up to four shifts per contract without penalty, though this is rare.
