Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

This position is for a skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care in a fast-paced environment. The nurse will work nights, with typical shifts running from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, and will be expected to float between multiple locations within the region as needed.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Occasionally

Unit Information

• Unit Type: ER (Emergency Room)
• Number of Beds: 33 (including 2 trauma bays)
• Psych/Seclusion Rooms: 5
• Average Patients Per Day: 125-140
• Staffing Ratios: 3-4:1
• Emergency Medical Records (EMR): Epic

Responsibilities

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in critical situations, including:

• Assessing and prioritizing patient needs
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, including ED physicians and mid-level providers
• Conducting IV administration and lab draws
• Maintaining patient privacy and security in the emergency setting

Qualifications

• Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an Emergency Room setting
• Required Certifications:
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Other: Completion of at least one previous travel assignment required

• Security: 24/7 security and patient sitters
• Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
• Pharmacy: 24/7, with support hours from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• IV Team: Available 24/7 for support
