Registered Nurse (RN) – GI/Endoscopy Lab

Position Overview

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the GI/Endoscopy Lab. The role requires availability for call and alternating weekends.

Unit Information

• Location: Endoscopy Lab, City, State
• Number of Beds: 2
• Staff Composition:
  • 1 Full-Time RN
  • 1 Part-Time RN
  • 1 PRN RN (on orientation)
  • 1 Full-Time Tech (Traveler)
  • 2 Part-Time Techs
• Shift Structure:
  • Day Shift: 2 RNs and 2-3 Techs depending on case load
  • Night Shift: Details not specified
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Equipment: Olympus scopes, Medivator, Scope Buddy 2
• EMR System: Meditech

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with and perform GI procedures such as EGD, Colonoscopy, and ERCP.
• Administer moderate sedation in collaboration with another RN.
• Occasionally perform thoracentesis and pleur-X placements.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Experience in EGD, Colonoscopy, and ERCP procedures.
• Ability to perform moderate sedation with another RN.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Bronchoscopy and EBUS.

Certifications

• ACLS Certification is required.

Additional Information

• Dress Code: Scrub color is Ceal Blue; hospital scrubs may be worn.
• Weekend and On-Call Duties: Call required for 2-3 days a week plus every 3rd weekend.
