Nursing Director – Inpatient Care

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Nursing Director to oversee Inpatient Care, including medical/surgical units and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The Nursing Director will be responsible for providing leadership and management of nursing operations aimed at ensuring high-quality patient care, safety, and overall service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the operations of medical/surgical units and the ICU.
• Assume 24-hour accountability for nursing care activities and service operations.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and physicians to implement policies, procedures, and standards that enhance nursing care.
• Utilize sound human resource and financial management principles to guide the provision of nursing services to patients and families.
• Ensure optimal nursing care through comprehensive patient and family services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required; Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Current licensure in the state of Maine as a Registered Nurse or Compact licensure in good standing.
• Specialty and leadership certification preferred.
• Minimum of less than one year of relevant experience.

Shift Information

This is a full-time position with a standard schedule from Monday through Friday. Holiday coverage is not required.

Certifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support/Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS/BCLS)
