L&D Director

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced L&D Director to oversee our Labor and Delivery unit. This position plays a crucial role in managing a team of healthcare professionals while ensuring the highest standards of care for mothers and newborns.

Unit Overview

The Labor and Delivery unit consists of:

• 3 Labor Suites
• 7 Mother/Baby rooms

The unit is staffed by 14 Registered Nurses (RNs), 3 Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and 2 Nurse Techs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Labor and Delivery team, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal patient care.
• Implement and maintain clinical best practices in fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, and advanced cardiac life support.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.
• Oversee staff development and training initiatives to maintain certifications and competencies.
• Monitor and manage unit operations, including budgeting, staffing, and performance metrics.
• Act as a liaison between administration and clinical staff to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a staff Registered Nurse (RN).
• At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably as a Director in Labor and Delivery.
• Current certifications in Fetal Heart Monitoring (Stable), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on patient care.
