Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room Nurse (CVOR RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of Pediatric CVOR experience and be equipped to provide exceptional care to a diverse patient population encompassing neonates to adult-sized patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiothoracic surgeries including cases such as Tetralogy of Fallot, transposition of great vessels, open heart valve repairs, and more.
• Scrub and circulate in the Operating Room, ensuring the highest level of patient care.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to manage patients with congenital anomalies and developmental delays.
• Utilize IV start skills, arterial line placement, and other critical nursing skills.
• Support the general OR when CVOR is not busy, providing assistance as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Pediatric CVOR experience; first-time travelers considered with over 5 years of experience.
• Current BLS and PALS certifications are required.
• CNOR certification is preferred.
• Valid RN license in Washington State or a compact RN license.

Work Environment

• Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.
• Level IV NICU on site.
• Primary patient demographics include neonates through 18 years of age, with potential cases in adult-sized patients.

Shift Details

• Shift times: 8-hour shifts from 0630 to 1530 or 12-hour shifts from 0645 to 1915.
• Weekend rotation involves being on call only, with 1 call shift per week and 2 weekends in a 6-week period.
• Response time for call shifts is within 30 minutes.
