Cardiac Device RN

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Device Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in an outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cardiac device management and will be responsible for providing quality patient care alongside a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Unit Information

  • Unit Type: Clinic/Outpatient
  • Average Number of Patients per Day: Workload will vary; expected to cover planned clinic visits, peri-operative management, remote monitoring, and device consults throughout the day.
  • Average Number of Providers Daily: 1-3 Electrophysiology (EP) Physicians, 1-4 EP Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
  • Device Management: Experience with Boston Scientific, Medtronic, Abbott, and Biotronik devices is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Device management and post-operative wound checks
  • Remote monitoring of cardiac devices
  • Collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals
  • Support planned clinic activities and respond to device consults

Qualifications

  • Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS)
  • Preferred Certification: Certified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS)
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years related experience in cardiac device management

Schedule

Clinic hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with staggered start times (e.g., 8:00-4:30, 8:30-5:00).

Orientation

The orientation period consists of 2-5 days of general orientation, including training on the electronic medical record (EMR) system, followed by 1-5 days of hands-on training with a preceptor.

Support and Environment

Our outpatient settings feature multiple device representatives available for support. The healthcare team, including physicians and APPs, is approachable and emphasizes collaboration and education.

Location

This position will require covering multiple outpatient locations in Tacoma and Gig Harbor, WA.
