Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Primary Care team. This position is integral to supporting patients and medical staff in the ambulatory care setting, ensuring the smooth operation of our outpatient department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical services in collaboration with providers and clinic staff to ensure high-quality care and services.
- Lead and direct clinic staff to optimize operations, encompassing both patient care and front desk activities.
- Manage medication inventory and supplies not on the Warehouse PAR system.
- Conduct necessary quality control checks for Point of Care tests.
- Document all care and services accurately and promptly, maintaining professionalism in all duties.
- Oversee the operations of the provider clinics, including opening and closing procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of providers and staff to facilitate efficient and quality patient care.
- Communicate effectively with various departments to serve as a valuable resource for patients and staff.
Shift Information
Regular shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Qualifications
- Current unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or another U.S. state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of primary care experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficient in the nursing process and its application in a clinical environment.
- Understanding of customer service principles.
- Knowledge of safety and infection control standards.
- Skilled in assessments, anticipating needs, and specimen collection.
- Proficient in using medical equipment and computers.
- Effective oral and written communication abilities.
Abilities
- Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented with a willingness to provide guidance when necessary.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively with staff and departments.

Physical Demands
The position requires regular communication skills, frequent standing, walking, sitting, and usage of hands to handle equipment. Occasionally, it may require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The role necessitates the ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Location
Position available in Ethel Lund Medical Center, located in a scenic area of Alaska.
