Unit Overview:

• Number of Beds: 272
• Number of Staff: 4
• Staff Type: Cardiac Sonographers
• Day Shift: 4 – 10 hour shifts
• Night Shift: Rotating on-call
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Type of Equipment: GE E95 (4), Philips Epiq (1)
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech and CCW

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 6 months experience in an acute care setting as an Echo Technologist
• BLS & RCS certification
• Pediatric experience

Preferred Skills:

• ARDMS certification
• Prior Meditech experience

Typical Procedures

Procedures performed on the unit include:

• Adult Echocardiograms (portable inpatients and outpatients)
• Transesophageal Echocardiograms
• Bubble studies
• Definity contrast studies
• Structured reporting for all procedures
