MRI Technologist

Job Summary

We are seeking an MRI Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess an associate degree in magnetic resonance imaging or radiology and have experience operating MRI machines efficiently. An applicant who can effectively communicate with patients to help them feel comfortable during scanning procedures and coordinate with physicians to ensure timely results will be highly valued. Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to stand for extended periods are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.
• Coordinate with physicians to provide accurate diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedures to alleviate anxiety.
• Insert IVs when necessary to facilitate testing.
• Document all procedures while upholding the confidentiality of patient information.
• Assist with patient care tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in MRI technology.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Experience with GE MRI scanners is mandatory.
• Prior experience in a Level 1 trauma center is preferred.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is essential.
• Injection certification is also required.
• New York State Radiologic Technologist License; must be willing to obtain this after starting.

Work Schedule

This position is available Monday through Friday, from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM EST, with holidays determined based on unit needs.
