MRI Technologist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our Radiology team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Trauma Level I environment and will be responsible for performing a variety of imaging studies with advanced MRI equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI scans and assist in patient positioning and comfort.
  • Utilize various machines, including Siemens Aera 1.5T, Trio 3T, and Espree 1.5T.
  • Execute a diverse range of imaging studies, including cardiac, breast MRI, and some angiography.
  • Document and maintain accurate patient records using EPIC and McKesson PACS systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure quality patient care and safety.
  • Start IVs as needed for contrast administration.
  • Participate in a rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
  • Contribute to departmental coverage by being available for on-call duties as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist.
  • Current BLS certification from AHA.
  • ARRT certification in MRI (MR).
  • Experience in a Trauma Level I setting is mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions

This position involves working three 12-hour shifts with varied days, including weekend and holiday requirements. The MRI department operates 24/7, and staff may be required to float within the MRI area.

Department Overview

The Radiology department features three MRI scanners and generally performs 35-40 scans per day. There is a strong emphasis on variety and efficient patient care.

Dress Code

Gray scrubs are required, and please note that artificial nails are not permitted in any areas providing patient care.

Orientation

A one-week departmental training will be provided, and the schedule for the training is flexible to accommodate new hires.
