MRI Technologist

Position Overview

The MRI Technologist plays a crucial role in providing diagnostic imaging services through magnetic resonance imaging. This full-time position requires specialized knowledge and skills in MRI technology to ensure quality care and safety for patients.

Shift Details

  • Shift Times: 10 hours Mids, 12:00 PM – 10:30 PM
  • Days: Tuesday to Friday
  • Weekend Requirement: No
  • On-Call Requirement: Yes
  • Holiday Requirement: Yes
  • Floating Requirements: No

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and MR techniques.
  • Prepare patients for MR procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the examination.
  • Perform venipuncture, manage IV access, and administer medications as prescribed.
  • Select and implement appropriate pulse sequences based on established protocols and acquisition parameters.
  • Evaluate medical images for quality and verify accurate patient identification.
  • Adhere to ACR MR safety guidelines, including access restrictions and patient/personnel screening.
  • Apply MR safety principles, including thorough research on implanted devices, to ensure minimal risk.
  • Identify and respond effectively to emergency situations as they arise.
  • Engage in quality assurance and educational activities as assigned.
  • Provide guidance and monitor students and other healthcare providers as needed.
  • Perform all required professional, clinical, and technical competencies for the designated unit or department.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned to support departmental goals.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology or MR Imaging.
  • ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification as an MRI Technologist.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
