Interventional Radiology Technologist

Position Description

This role involves working four 10-hour shifts weekly in an Interventional Radiology (IR) unit.

Unit Information

• Number of Labs: 5
• Staffing: 1-2 RNs + 1-2 Techs per case, depending on complexity
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 in holding, depending on acuity
• Type of Equipment: GE Imaging
• Documentation System: MacLab and Meditech
• Call Requirements: Monthly call shift burden goal is less than 15, must arrive within 30 minutes when called in

Typical Hiring Profile

• Must Have:
  • RN, ACLS, BLS
  • RCIS or any procedural/cardiology-centered certification
  • Experience in vascular interventional radiology procedures
  • Knowledge of Cath Lab/IR protocols and procedures
  • Neuro-interventional experience
  • High-level communication skills

Typical Procedures Performed

• Full scope of Interventional Radiology procedures, including:
  • Structural procedures (TAVR, MitraClip)
  • Carotid stenting
  • Peripheral arterial cases
  • Lumbar punctures

Additional Preferences

• CVT, ARRT, RCIS certification
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Capability to function well independently

Dress Code

Surgical scrubs will be provided by the unit.

Experience Requirement

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
