Electrophysiology Technician

Job Overview

The Electrophysiology Technician will work in a cutting-edge Electrophysiology Lab, responsible for assisting in advanced procedures including ablations for atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to teamwork and patient-centered care, with the ability to adapt to a high-volume case environment.

Job Details

  • Shift: Days (6 AM – 4:30 PM), no call
  • Shift Length: 10 hours
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Electrophysiology and Cath Lab settings
  • Certifications required: BLS, RCES or RCIS, COVID vaccination
  • Experience with sedation and Phase 1 recovery; ICU or PACU experience preferred
  • EPIC experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup and execution of electrophysiology procedures
  • Circulate and assist the core staff with documentation
  • Maintain a focus on teamwork, prioritizing patient care
  • Stay until the end of the day if cases are added on

Work Environment

This position is located in a facility that features three electrophysiology suites, with an average of 22 total cases handled between the Cath Lab and EP Lab. Offering a collaborative workspace that emphasizes a one-team approach, all staff are expected to contribute where possible, although scrubbing in is not required.

Additional Notes

  • No on-call requirements, closed on holidays
  • High volume of cases due to a backlog exacerbated by COVID-19; preference for candidates willing to work extra hours
  • Utilizes St. Jude and Webster EP equipment
