XRay/CT Radiologic Technologist

Job Overview

This position is responsible for acquiring high-quality images while ensuring safe, professional care for patients. The role also involves delivering excellent customer service while maintaining strict confidentiality. The radiologic technologist will operate all relevant imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures, and will communicate effectively with patients, providers, nurses, radiologists, and other departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire optimal quality images and perform imaging procedures in line with established protocols.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment operation and ensure safety standards are met.
  • Document and perform all quality assurance and quality control as required by governing health authorities.
  • Assist in daily operations of the imaging department including patient scheduling and equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain confidentiality and act with professionalism in all matters relating to patients and coworkers.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills while working collaboratively with team members and other departments.
  • Respond promptly to equipment failures and report issues as necessary.
  • Support departmental initiatives and participate in continuing education activities to maintain professional competency.

Work Schedule

Varied schedule with 8-hour shifts, occasional half days, and guaranteed hours per week. Rotation of holiday and weekend shifts is required.

On Call Requirements

A 15-minute response window is required for on-call and callback situations, with specific evening and weekend obligations.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
  • ARRT and BLS certifications are required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in X-Ray and CT procedures is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain required certifications and complete continuing education of 24 CEUs every 2 years.
  • Proficient in using electronic charting systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task while working under pressure.
  • Possess problem-solving skills and the ability to address patient and customer complaints effectively.

  • Willingness to adapt to change and learn new procedures as necessary.
  • Proficient in operating X-Ray and CT equipment.
  • Effective time management skills and reliability in attendance and performance.
  • Capable of providing and receiving constructive feedback to support team dynamics.
