CT Technologist

Position Overview

The CT Technologist is a vital member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing timely diagnostic services to both inpatient and outpatient populations under the direction of a Radiologist and departmental protocols. This role requires proficiency in routine diagnostic CT scanning procedures including, but not limited to, CT of the head/brain, neck, thorax, spine, abdomen/pelvis, extremities, and biopsy/drainage procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine diagnostic CT scanning procedures while adhering to departmental protocols.
• Demonstrate knowledge of CT system processing and surgical/sterile procedures.
• Administer contrast media for studies, conducting both with and without contrast as required.
• Maintain an understanding of cross-sectional anatomy relevant to various diagnostic studies.
• Initiate and maintain intravenous (IV) access as necessary.

Equipment Utilized

The technologist will work with several types of imaging equipment, including:

• Philips 128 Ingenuity (ER scanner, primary for nights)
• Philips Brilliance 64
• Philips Big Bore 16

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited AMA school.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
• Licensed by the state as a general radiographer.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• A minimum of two years of experience in CT imaging is required.

Schedule

This position is primarily scheduled for night shifts from Sunday to Wednesday, 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with the potential for floating to different departments as needed.
