PET Technologist

Position Overview

A PET Technologist is responsible for conducting imaging procedures on adult oncology patients. This role requires a strong foundation in clinical assessment skills and the ability to work with advanced imaging technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize whole body, bone, and brain scanning techniques with radioisotopes.
• Administer injections and perform peripheral IV starts as necessary.
• Operate Siemens PET CT equipment and follow camera protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant clinical setting.
• Required certifications include BLS, ARRT-N or NMTCB-PET.
• Must possess a valid WA state license (in hand or proof of application submitted at least 6 weeks prior).
• Experience in handling adult oncology patients is preferred; no pediatric experience is required.
• Strong clinical assessment skills and experience with relevant technologies is essential.

Work Environment

• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Work is performed at an outpatient facility in Yakima, WA, featuring one PET scanner.
• Average patient load is 10-11 patients per day, with 5-6 patients assigned per technologist.
• No weekend shifts; the facility is closed on major holidays.
• Floating may be required to other locations as needed.
• Professional attire required: Any solid color scrubs without graphics, logos, or designs.
