Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

General Information

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a background in cardiology for an immediate start. The clinic will accommodate up to 22 patients per day.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of clinic experience required.
• First-time travelers are welcome with any relevant clinic experience.
• Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from the facility.
• Permanent staff must wait 1 full year before returning as a traveler.

Patient Types

The position involves caring for patients with a variety of cardiovascular conditions, including:

• General Cardiology
• Electrophysiology
• Vascular Surgery

Patient Care Ratios

The average patient load is 22 patients per day.

Required Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.

Education Requirements

Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing is required.

Required Skills

• Clinic experience is required.
• Cardiology experience is required.

Support on the Unit

The LPN will work alongside the following support staff:

• EKG Technicians
• Clinical Assistants (3) – 1 Clinical Assistant per 10 rooms
• Lead Registered Nurse (RN)
• Nursing Manager (RN)

Charting System

Experience with the Epic charting system is required.

Floating

The position may involve floating within the cardiology clinic only.

Orientation

Orientation will consist of facility protocols and 3-4 days of unit training alongside an experienced nurse.

Scheduling

• Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
• No weekend rotation

Holiday Expectations

The candidate will be expected to work 2 out of 4 holidays, with the Day After Thanksgiving recognized as a holiday.

Time Off

Approval of time off can be requested, with a possible contract extension to cover full weeks off up to a total of 13 weeks.
