Join a dedicated team in a Trauma/Ortho/Med-Surg unit that focuses on providing high-quality patient care. The unit has a total of 36 beds and a diverse staff of 49 professionals.

Unit Details

• Staffing:
  • Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 3 RNs, 3 LPNs, 3 PCTs, 1 Secretary
  • Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 3 RNs, 3 LPNs, 3 PCTs
• Patient Ratio: 6 patients per nurse
• Equipment: IV pumps, Wound Vac, SCD pumps, Kangaroo Pumps, Chest Tubes, Telemetry, PCA pumps, Bipaps, Epidurals
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): System used for patient documentation

Responsibilities

• Perform wound vac changes and wound care
• Administer IV insertions and manage fluids
• Insert indwelling Foley catheters as per protocol

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Experience in Med-Surg nursing
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Strong critical thinking skills

Preferred Skills:

• Effective prioritization and time management skills

Certifications:

• Active Nursing License
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Additional Information

• Weekends: Expect to work every other weekend
• On-call duties may be required based on census levels

Dress Code

Ceil Blue scrubs are required; sweatshirts and crocs are not permitted.

Floating Areas

Potential to float to additional units as needed.
