Unit Information

Join our dynamic Trauma/Ortho/Med-Surg unit, located in Alexandria, LA. Our facility boasts:

• Number of Beds: 36
• Staffing: 49 healthcare professionals
• Patient Ratios: Nurse/Patient = 6:1
• Equipment Type: IV pumps, Wound Vacs, SCD pumps, Kangaroo Pumps, Chest Tubes, Telemetry, PCA pumps, Bipaps, Epidurals
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: [Details available upon request]

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct wound care and management, including Wound Vac changes and dressing changes.
• Perform IV insertions and insert indwelling Foley catheters.
• Collaborate effectively as a part of a healthcare team.

Qualifications

Required Certifications:

• Active Nursing License
• ACLS Certification
• BLS Certification

Required Skills:

• Med-Surg experience
• Critical thinking skills
• Team player mentality

Preferred Skills:

• Prioritization skills
• Time management skills

Work Environment

This unit operates on a structured schedule with:

• Every other weekend shifts required
• Flexible on-call opportunities during low census periods

Dress Code

Uniform requirements include:

• Ceil Blue scrubs (no sweatshirts or crocs allowed)
