Medical Technologist

Position Overview

Join a dedicated team at a 110-bed facility that offers a comprehensive range of laboratory services, including chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis, coagulation, blood bank, molecular, and microbiology testing. This facility also provides outpatient services Monday through Friday from 0600 to 1800 and supports partnered clinics in the surrounding areas.

Shift Schedules

• Day shift: 8-hour shifts from 0700 to 1530.
• Weekend shift: Every third weekend, if day shift is completed.
• Holiday requirement: Two minor holidays (Memorial Day, Labor Day) and one major holiday (Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year’s Day).
• All staff members are expected to be cross-trained to cover night shifts as needed.

Educational Requirements

• Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science.

Key Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience is essential.
• Microbiology lead tech and chemistry lead tech positions available for MLS only.

Team Structure

The laboratory team consists of:

• 4-5 medical technologists and 3 phlebotomists on day shift.
• 3-4 medical technologists and 2 phlebotomists on evening shift.
• 1 medical technologist and 1 phlebotomist on night shift.

Professional Appearance

Jewelry should be kept to a minimum while on duty. Visible face or body piercings, outside of traditional ear piercings and small nose studs, are not permitted. Examples of prohibited items include, but are not limited to, nose rings, eyebrow piercings, lip piercings, and cheek piercings.
