Experience Requirements
Minimum of less than 1 year of experience is required.
Certification Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Registry as Histology Technician with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or an equivalent certification

Familiarity with the following equipment and systems is required:
- Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Hospital Information System (HIS)
- Tissue processor
- Embedding center
- Automatic stainer
- Automated coverslipper
- Analytic balance
- Automated microtome
- Microwave
- Microscope
- Telephone
- Tissue floatation bath
- Volumetric glassware
- Cryostat
- Recycler
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
