Travel Social Worker

Position Overview

This is a 13-week travel assignment for a Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work (LMSW) required. The position involves a full-time schedule of 8-hour days, with a focus on providing comprehensive social work services within various healthcare settings.

Work Schedule

• Full-time, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Work days: Monday to Friday, or Friday to Monday
• Occasional weekend coverage may be required, though this is rare

Clinical Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of social situations and needs, developing appropriate care plans
• Participate in multidisciplinary team rounds focused on discharge planning
• Provide coverage across all units, including emergency response and maternal care as needed

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Alaska Social Work License (LMSW) prior to submission
• Master’s degree in Social Work or an equivalent educational qualification
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a social work role
• Proficient in using EMR systems, specifically EPIC and MIDAS
• Ability to work independently and creatively address the unique social issues present in Alaska

Work Environment and Attire

Attire is flexible, with options for scrubs or business casual wear. The selected candidate will need to arrange for their own housing and transportation prior to the start of the assignment.
